A great trip from Byron to Hervey Bay that I took with a girlfriend but would keep a whole family interested too! See incredible beaches, hinterland, glow-worms and whales on this easy 2-3 day drive.

A combination of incredible natural beauty (especially the vantage point from the lighthouse!), great food, interesting people and a very happening night life if you know where to look!
Brings back memories of watching Fern Gully, and is the first place in Australia to see the sunrise
So much to do in this beautiful hinterland town. From bushwalks to glow-worms, liqueur to fudge, I could spend A LOT of time here.
So close to my home in Brisbane, this spectacular winery offers a nice selection of food and wine with the grounds and view that will take your breath away.
I cannot get enough of this place - stunning beach and so much shopping!
Having accidentally stumbled on this turnoff on the way to somewhere else, it was a real treat to be able to drive right up to the lookout where you can see to the ocean and the hinterland surrounds
It's hard to miss the association with Mary Poppins in this town, being the birthplace of the author. Café Cru and the fudge at Mary Delicious are not to be missed!
How can ANYTHING be more special than getting to head out on the water for a day to see the majestic Humpback Whales as they migrate up the coast (we went with 'That's Awesome' tour boat). Incredible.
